Production company Good Times has signed award-winning filmmaker TJ O’Grady-Peyton to their directorial roster. With more than a decade of experience in the commercial space, he’s known for cinematic, energetic ads and performance-driven shorts. O’Grady-Peyton’s strong, offbeat characters consistently convey nuance and resonate emotionally with audiences. He has worked with elite international athletes and his global brand clients including Under Armour, UEFA, Asics, Lincoln, Gatorade, Peloton, Volkswagen, BMW, and The European Union.
This year, O’Grady-Peyton’s Screen Ireland-funded short film Room Taken won Best Irish Short Film at the Dublin International Film Festival and Best Short Film at the Cleveland International Film Festival, making the film eligible for consideration at the 2025 Academy Awards. His short Silence debuted at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival and he won the Bingham Ray New Talent Award at Galway Film Fleadh.
“Culturally, TJ brings a unique perspective, and that’s always good for a company. He’s an amazing communicator, on set and off,” said Bernadette Spear, Executive Producer at Good Times. “His familiarity with post production informs his directorial approach, ensuring a level of ease on projects. TJ’s natural curiosity means he’s always learning about the latest tools and technology he can employ in his craft. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
O’Grady-Peyton gained industry recognition as a finalist for the Young Director Awards at Cannes 2013 for his Adidas spec film, following his completion of a Masters in Filmmaking at the London Film School. His commercial work has since garnered acclaim from the Webbys, Clios, Art Directors Club, Kinsale Sharks, and AICP Awards. He received the Discovery Award from the Dublin International Film Festival and his short film Wave, in which he also acted, won an Irish Film and Television Award for Best Short and was showcased in The New Yorker and Disney. After premiering at Tribeca in 2017, Wave screened at 75 festivals including BFI, Melbourne, Aspen, and Clermont Ferrand.
“Good Times comprises people of genuine character and a passion for the industry,” said O’Grady-Peyton. “They are remarkably trustworthy; it’s a fresh young company and I love the energy that comes with proving yourself. I’m ready to dive in, get my hands dirty, and expand more into the US market.”
O’Grady-Peyton is in development on three separate films. Internationally, he is repped by Darling in the UK, Betti Berlin + Kanu Films in Germany (non-exclusive), Motherland in Ireland, Gang Films in France, and JSA - globally.
