Back in the early 1990's when MTV still played music videos, Soul Asylum had a top five hit called “Runaway Train." The video by Soul Asylum, NCMEC and director Tony Kaye was unique in that it featured photo of 36 kids who went missing. After the video aired on MTV, 21 of those missing kids were recovered. |

As a nod to both the original song and music video, "Runaway Train 25" is an updated version made for 2019. The updated video reinterprets the original song and features musical artists Jaime N Commons, Skylar Grey and Gallant. Even better: Using geolocation technology, the music video becomes a search tool to find missing children locally. The video automatically updates itself with profiles of missing children from the NCMEC database based on the viewing location, which people can share across Twitter and other social media platforms. The release was timed to coincide with National Missing Children’s Day on Saturday, May 25, 2019. Great idea for a worthy cause.
