This ad from Burrell Communications might have been bearable if that voice-over didn't get so heavy handed and pitch-like as he spells out "sharing wholesome food and random acts of kindness"... Gag!

Pssst! Hey, you, Dabitch. I don't know if you're aware of this, but, it's a commercial, not art. A :60 commercial McDonald's corporation approved to help sell its brand globally, utilizing a quality message about its food. (Yes, there's, imagine this, a strategic MESSAGE in the spot you might have missed since it was so "unbearable" to your sensitive ears). Perhaps the next time before commenting on work you only wish you were given the opportunity to work on if you had any talent, you'd be better served to first pull your vacuous head out of your ass before opening your cynical pie hole you tiny little person. I will congratulate you on one thing though, your name certainly fits you. Speaking of which, I have a suggestion for a surname. Since you seem to be so intelligent and insightful, I'll let you figure it out.
Here's a hint: It's rhymes with "runt"

PermalinkDabitch is a surname.
I stand by my opinion that the voice-over is too heavy handed, and really ruins the moment in that ad, no matter what ugly names you decide to call me. You're welcome to disagree of course, but personal attacks are really quite childish and something we leave out when we discuss the merit of commercial work around here. Try it, it might grow on you.
Have you even seen this version, since you claim to be in Singapore (though your IP puts you in Sacramento California on Surewest.net) and you are not a super adgrunt (=can't see the film)? Do you often have opinions on work you haven't seen?
Wondering: where did you get the information that this ad is global? It isn't. It's created by an African American agency targeting the african american US market. Over here in Europe, we don't even have african-americans to target. (haha, a joke, geddit?)

PermalinkSomeone is acting pissed enough to make me suspect he wrote that awful line for the voice-over.

PermalinkHahahah - McDonalds has "good wholesome food"? What a load! I'm so surprised someone let that out of the legal department.

PermalinkI can't stand voice-over lines that write the viewer on the nose and outright lie about "wholesome food". I wonder what nasty names igotmadskills will call me for that.
- reply
PermalinkMaybe he meant his name to be igotmad KILL, but in his haste, hit "s" instead of "Shift" or "Caps Lock". :-)

PermalinkActually, here's a fact about his name: if you take some of the letters away and add some more it spells dickhead. It also spells arsehole, wanker and any other combination of letters you care to put together. And that's a fact. Indisputable.
Seriously, before I get flamed by our visitor. I think he meant to press the letter B but instead got the letter M.
I'll let you work that out, igotbadskills. Sorry, igotmadskills. Jeez, these typos are catching.

Permalinkigotmadskills doth protest too much. It's obvious that he wrote the offending VO. Congratulations, now we know that you are both a hack and an ass.
