Literal branding: Advertising on strippers bodies

Show Palace strip club now offers temporary tattoos on their strippers as advertising space. Yep. The word "branding" is feeling rather icky in this context.

Advertising on body parts isn't new at all though. The Nevada Athletic Commission tried to ban temporary tattoo ads on boxers and athletes back in 02 when it gained popularity. Then in 2006 a design student in Holland had the idea to put day-glow ads on prostitutes' thighs and cleavage, in the red light district, and dub it a new media channel.
So many people have tried to sell parts of their body as ad-space we were well over it in 2009. Yet here we are again, Pornhub are advertising using temporary tattoos on the ladies dancing at Show Palace in long island, and will be milking lots of press out of it, as if it's some groundbreaking "new" ad idea. Remember thighvertising in Japan, anyone? No? Maybe you recall assvertising the hot trend of 05 that Gene Simmons & 25 babes did in 07.

Yeah my point is this is really old, people. And I can't believe the press is still falling for it. But hey, congrats to Show Palace for getting your long island strip club mentioned in national press. Because of course Pornhub - the "Golden Palace" of the 10's - is there buying some space already.

Pornhub is the first advertiser to take Show Palace up on their new ad space, buying up a logo on the back of a stripper for 30 days because, as Mr. Diaz says, this client “understands the value of advertising.”
PornHub VP Corey Price called the skin ads a “no-brainer.”
“We’re able to advertise in front of our target audience—those with an affinity for naked women,” Mr. Price said in the release. “And, unlike our Times Square billboard, it won’t get torn down by disgruntled business owners.”
