The Foo Fighters: Official Band Announcement (2016) 7:14 (USA)

Amidst rumors that The Foo Fighters are breaking up, the group let the world know they would make an announcement about it. This is the announcement in question. And it is hilarious. Dave Grohl pretends to go solo, and make shit music since the Oscar thing has gone to his head. Producer Butch Vig encourages his narcissism while the rest of the band tries to decide who to replace him with. They ultimately replace him with Nick Lachey. And after the comedy ends comes the message: "For the millionth time, we're not breaking up. And no one's going fucking solo." Very funny stuff. It is textbook example of how to do social right. Respond to chatter in a relevant way and your fans will like it as long as its relevant and authentic. The Foo Fighters have always had a sense of humor about them ever since they mocked those cheesy 1990's Mentos ads in their music video for Big Me. This is just the Foos bein' the Foos.

Remember kids: Stay on brand.
