Etsy joins the Christmas ad fray with a campaign called "Gift like you mean it". This line is very adaptable to the many one-of-a-kind personal handmade items that Etsy store hosts offer, so I think it works really well.
This ad tells the story of "Nana" and her husband, who can't see their grandchildren this Christmas, and you can tell by the grandmother's lonely decorating that this is silently breaking her heart.
On Christmas morning, however, she receives a very personal gift from her grandson.

The story is well told but the gift chosen is terrible. A child who can draw a 'doll' can also sew a doll, why would you pay someone else to make a doll exactly like a child's drawing when the child is still alive and could interpret their own art into craft themselves?
