Coinciding with the Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham, an "Woman = Adult human female" billboard has popped up, right above a sex shop.In what could be described as a strategic placement with a twist of irony, a billboard declaring "Woman = Adult human female" has emerged in Birmingham, just in time for the Conservative Party Conference. And where has it chosen to perch, you might ask? Directly above a sex shop, of course.
This electronic display, echoing its Liverpool predecessor, not only features the dictionary's take on what constitutes a woman but also sports the Venus symbol, the universal symbol of females.
Posie Parker, the spirited leader of Standing For Women, sent an email to her followers: “A new digital billboard has graced Birmingham today, right across from the coach station. Snap a pic if you're local, and let's spread the word on Twitter!”
This comes hot on the heels of the Liverpool billboard debacle, where Primesight, under pressure from Dr. Adrian Harrop, an LGBT+ activist, decided to pull the plug on what they initially thought was just a harmless definition.
However, Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull, aka Posie Parker, remains undeterred: “We will not capitulate, we will not submit, and we will certainly not stop. The battle to safeguard our rights has literally fallen into our laps in 2018, and this is one fight we're not about to lose.”
