Following the overwhelming success of the first volume, Walter Lürzer, President and editor-in-chief of Lürzer's International Archive hosted the launch celebration of the new 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide 06/07 on 11th October 2006. The launch event was held at its Park Avenue south US office and attended by over 300 guests. World renowned photographer representatives like Stockland Martel, Elizabeth Poje and Monaco Reps, as well as important art buyers from agencies like TBWA, BBDO NY, Publicis NY, Saatchi&Saatchi NY, and stock agencies like Corbis and Getty Images attended the launch celebration.
The new 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide showcases work by 200 of the world's best-known names in advertising photography, such as Nadav Kander from the UK, Uwe Duettmann from Germany, Pierpaolo Ferrari from Italy, Marc Gouby from France, Ricardo Barcellos from Brazil, Takahito Sato from Japan, and Mark Laita from the USA. The price of this hefty volume numbering 388 pages is – like that of all the Lürzer´s Specials - just $ 23.50.
This is not a book of pretty product shots. Its 388 pages are filled with masterworks of color, lighting, storytelling, and persuasion in categories like “Animals,” “Automotive,” “”Beauty & Nudes,” “Children,” “Fashion,” “Food & Drink,” “Landscapes,” and “Sports.”
200 Best Ad Photographers worldwide is the result of an international competition. “We asked the most important art directors in creative departments all over the world who they thought the best photographers were.” says publisher Walter Lürzer. “Then, a jury of external experts provided us with the discernment required for the final selection process.”
Many of the ad campaigns shown in the book are being seen in the United States for the first time. Work from photographers in Japan, Holland, Germany, Hong Kong and Milan show unique cultural influences.
