Vancouver Opera"Monster Murals Project" (2014) 2:38 (Canada)

The Vancouver Opera and DDB Canada collaborated with some street artists to create an opera that is relevant to today.
Stickboy is the first opera of its kind, about bullying. Composed by Neil Weisensel with libretto by spoken-word artist Shane Koyczan, Stickboy tells the story of a young boy whose life has been transformed by bullying. As part of the campaign to promote the opera, DDB enlisted four Vancouver artists to draw murals about what bullying means to them. Nick Gregson, Carson Ting, Ben Tour and Ola Volo all contributed, and you can see how their murals came to life form inspiration to final piece by visiting the Stickboy Opera website.

If you happen to be in Vancouver and want to see the murals in person you can go here:

The program is in market now and will continue until the end of the run of Stickboy on November 7, 2014. The monster murals can be found at the following locations in Vancouver:

· Hoarding at 101 East Hastings Street (corner of Columbia Street) – Nick Gregson
· Exterior of 1000 Parker Street – Carson Ting
· Exterior of Bomber Brewing, 1488 Adanac Street (corner of McLean Drive) – Ben Tour
· Hoarding at 3106 Cambie Street (corner of West 15th Avenue) – Ola Volvo

In addition there's also a promotional poster campaign that gives you a taste of what it's like to be bullied.
