Why Jimmy in Quadrophenia, speaking of adgrunts on film, which madison ave exec chirped "I'm an advertising man not a red herring" in a classic Hitchcock flick?

alex's picture

Twas Roger Thornhill in North by Northwest. Hitchcock once said the ads were "exquisitely vulgar and so delightfully tasteless that they must be irresistible to everyone save the few who aren't enchanted by discussions of nasal passages and digestive tracts". Can't argue with that. But name another ad man played by Cary Grant.

(By the way... Bernbucks??? I smell a herring).

alex's picture

Is that it, then?

Looks like you stumped everybody. I know the answer..... But I ain't telling.
