All You Need Is Love...Mojis. That's right kids, Beatle Paul has partnered with Skype to create some music//sounds for some ten special animated Mojis created for Valentine's Day. As Skype explains on its blog Mojis are one of its most unique features, taking emojis to a whole new level. According to Skype's Blog:
"If you haven’t tried Mojis yet, we invite you start today and let us know what you think. Mojis are completely unique to Skype and feature sound as well as video, giving your chats a whole new personalityPaul genuinely loves Skype and, inspired by our existing Mojis, was excited to lend his voice to the Mojis family."
However, if you watch the first video, Paul is a bit less convincing in his effusive praise. "I was asked by Skype to create some music for some Mojis they've created, especially for Valentine's Day, and at first I thought hmm...strange...proposition...is this for me....and then I thought, you know what, why not? Something fun..something nice and new."
But Paul, ever the entertainer wanting to be loved, hopes we'll all go out and use them and have a bit of fun, a few laughs etc etc.
However, if you visit Paul's blog, it's a lot more in-depth when it comes to the music process.
“It turned out to be a great laugh at the same time as challenging because you suddenly realise you’ve got to compress a musical interpretation of an expression into less than five seconds. It was like doing a huge crossword puzzle and coming up with all these solutions. And at the same time it was musical so it was great practice for me in the studio.”
As for the sounds he also said: “I wanted it to sound sort of electronic so I wanted the signature to sound electronic rather than acoustic guitar, for instance. So I got the overall signature on the Moog in order to give it a modern flavour.”
Anyway, this video This gives us a little peek behind the scenes at the creative process. Pretty cool.
