Creative studio Gentleman Scholar partnered with Skullcandy on a vicious spot featuring Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls.
Each moment delivers a visual feast, anchored by Rose as he rocks out to bass-booming hip-hop boasting the finest headphones from Skullcandy’s new Crusher line. As the music builds, Rose’s Crushers erupt with psychedelic 3D waves of color and light generated by Gentleman Scholar’s team of VFX artists, creating an intense aura and providing the perfect illustration of Skullcandy’s CRUSHER campaign.
Gentleman Scholar delivered a full suite of services, handling everything from initial concepting with the Skullcandy marketing team, to the live-action shoot with Rose himself, VFX, and every gorgeous detail of the crisply finished product. “We’ve been watching basketball since we were in diapers, so we were stoked to build a piece that centered around Derrick,” notes Gentleman Scholar Director and Creative Director Will Johnson. “We wanted to create a nice visual interpretation of the bass, giving it a tangibility that exploded off the screen.”
