This campaign for Pondicherry Tourism on the 15th International Yoga Festival was released in December 2007 as a build up to the International Yoga Festival, held in the first week of january, every year. The campaign ran across South Indian cities and also in international media. Media: Print, Ambient, Outdoor, TV & Cinema Halls. Inside are the print executions and a link to the TV commercial. After looking at these images I feel stiff as a board, and that's saying a lot since I can still put one leg behind my head - can you?

Pondicherry International Yoga Festival (2008) :60 (India)
Clearly, I have to do more yoga. I can do what this guy below does but not what the other folks are doing. Holy cow, I didn't even know the foot under chin thing was possible.

PermalinkOoh. Speaking as someone who's managed to wrench a shoulder and twist an ankle (not at the same time) while asleep in bed, I think I'll give the yoga festival a miss, thanks.

PermalinkHow on earth did you manage that? I could see wrenching shoulders and twisting ankles while in bed (nudge nudge, say no more!), it's the while asleep that throws me. You must have some really wicked dreams.

PermalinkI've managed to pull my back while in bed (without any funny stuff going on :-) [a nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse!]), but it usually happens after I had done something that twisted my back out, but hadn't bothered me yet. I do have occasional problems with leg cramps as I get out of bed.
I could never put my leg behind my head, even in my very best condition. Close, but no cigar. I can get my head to my knees, though. I was able to do a full split, and a full stradle split as well, and both elbows are hyperextended. [I was a gymnast in high school].
I could never do the full-lotus position either, my knees are too rigid, in regards to side-to-side motion [the tendons are really tight], and my ankles have been twisted too many times as well.
I can still do a partial version of the planch (sic) that the traffic guy does, with his legs out to the side. Not too shaby for someone in my age and weight brackets!

PermalinkImpressive. My dad could do the planch but every time I've tried I've fallen on my flat on my nose.

PermalinkLean forward into it, and arch your back and neck, and look towards the ceiling (focus on the ceiling-wall corner, perhaps).
