So, by now everyone and their aunt has heard that Daddy has become Crispin Porter + Bogusky Europe.
Crispin Porter + Bogusky (CP+B), an MDC Partners firm, announced today that they are expanding their European base of operations with the acquisition of renowned Swedish digital agency, Daddy. Currently CP+B has service offices in London, Spain and Germany but will now count Gothenburg, Sweden as its first creative hub and factory within Europe. This is a true launch of CP+B Europe with Gothenburg as the center of European operations. The move strengthens CP+B’s global presence and allows them to better serve their current global clients Burger King and Microsoft as well as pursue new business with global demands.
So, while all creatives working in Gothenburg have been busy thumbing their noses at all creatives working in Stockholm all day today, us in Malmö will simply say "congrats Daddy!" and remind folks that it's cheaper to fly to the rest of Europe from Copenhagen you know, hint hint to other big US agencies looking to expand. ;)
Meanwhile twitter-chatter about the buy hasn't quite died down yet Pilo tweets: "Vi har spelat Glasvegas 'Daddy's gone' hela morgonen", säger byråledaren Gustav Martner.” = "We've been playing Glasvegas ""Daddy's Gone" all morning, says Gustav Martner" (Daddy). Funny.
This too is a glorious find, is this Daddy.se's first homepage? How retro, hat tip to Pilo.
