LG - Man From The Future / Super bowl (2016) :60 (USA)

LG's very first super bowl commercial was directed and produced by Hollywood family royalty, Ridley and Jake Scott, while starring Liam Neeson. “Ridley and Jake are an amazing creative team,” said Neeson. “You know you’re in good hands.” The idea was to make it a mini-movie of sorts, to highlight how futuristic a thin glass sheet looks as a functioning TV. “At first I was struck by its form. It’s just beautifully thin, clean and simple and elegant,” said Ridley Scott.

“It’s a dynamic short film,” said the commercial’s executive producer, Sir Ridley Scott. “It’s about the race to be on the vanguard of innovation and to be able to create tomorrow’s technology.”

The short film is part Tron, part Looper as the man in bar, as Liam is also the other man in the bar. Twist! From the look of it, every part the man flees through is a design element of the LG TV.
As we announced earler both Ridley and Jake have been in the super bowl before, Ridley shot 1984, while Jake told us the sad story of the lost Dog last year.

Directed by: Jake Scott
