Wildlife photographer Will Burrard-Lucas photographed pedestrians in the Helsinki region.
Helsinki regional transport wants to encourage everyone in the metropolitan area to walk more. Walking brings cities to life and supports citizens’ physical and mental well-being. Walking is also a fundamental aspect of using public transport and an important element in urban trip chains. Helsinki regional transport wants to turn the Helsinki region into the walking capital of the world.
If you check out HSL’s Instagram account and the tags #wildlife #documentary #helsinki #helsinkiarea #walkingcapital #hsl #358helsinki #cocoahelsinki #helsinginseutu #walking, you'll find the collected works from Will Burrard-Lucas.
Burrard-Lucas chose the hundred best photos of the feet that passed him by, the very best of them also became posters, but all 100 were published on the Helsinki region transport services instagram page as well.
When you have great public transport, a ten-minute walk or a twenty-minute stroll between places you need to be isn't inconvenient, it's part of how you get around. Leave the car at home and help Helsinki become the walking capital of the world.
