Harvey Nichols features 100 year-old model in ad to run in Vogue

This years June issue of Vogue, will celebrate the iconic fashion mag’s 100th birthday. So Harvey Nichols created an ad with Bo Gilbert, who was born in 1916, as their main muse. And she looks fantastic.

Fashion photographer Phil Poynter shot Bo Gilbert who coquettishly leans on a stool for the shoot. Bo Gilbert isn't the first older model face to be seen in recent advertising campaigns, as finding fab people over 50 is a bit of a trend as of late. 81 year old model Carmen Dell'Orefice walked the runway at New York Fashion week, Joan Didion is the face of Céline, Joni Mitchell has been modelling for Saint Laurent, Charlotte Rampling posed for Nars and Helen Mirren modelled for L'Oréal Paris.

The use of Bo Gilbert as a model in the 100th anniversary issue of Vogue is a timely addition to the older model trend, while having a point about timeless style and sending a birthday message to Vogue itself. This will be the biggest issue ever made, and you can find it in newsstands in late May.
