Hallmark - Old friends / Story teller - long edit (1992) 2:30 (USA)

As the family has gathered for Christmas, and Grandpa is reading Christmas cards, the grandchildren demand that he tell them the story, about his best friend Jake on the boat.

"I'll try, I'll try, it was a long time ago." As he begins to tell the story, it's clear that this is no ordinary boat, it's the ship that will take him to America. He left all his friends behind. Until he met Jake. They became instant best friends. And the last night on the trip, was the first day of Hanukkah. Jake's family invited them to celebrate with them, and they sang songs and played games. "I always wonder what he's doing now."

And there's a card, Happy Hanukkah from Jake.
