Anyone else getting a little sick of all these hoazes, er, fictional ad people getting their own blog-pages, myspace profiles and livejournal accounts or is it just me? I hope that the free services they leech on are getting paid for the ad placement at least, which is what it is lets be fair.
Most recently I stumbled onto Miss Helga's myspace profile where I've got the chance to download ringtones, desktop images and learn that every idiot on Myspace thinks "advertisment" for short is spelled "add". Gah!
Helga is a fantastic character in the "un-pimp my ride" ads, but it's not like I want to read her blog. Why are we doing this? Is it to pretend we've created "a "360 campaign"?
I don't know what ever possessed you to get into advertising Dabitch. It's clear that you are way too ethical. ;)

PermalinkThe "add" that the MySpace users are referring to is the fact that Helga "added" them as a friend - not the advertisement.
I just posted some additional thoughts on Helga's page here: http://www.brandflakesforbreakfast.com/2006/05/miss-helgas-myspace.html

PermalinkAha, well thank god for that. So many people actually spell ad "add" I thought that's what they were on about.
It's fun that Helga interacts (will this be all future interns full-time job?) and adds people and so on. It's also right on tone, what with her hating Venice as they have no roads, so as an "ad-persona" page-example this one is one of the best. If they are paying Myspace for it, then its all good.
If they are not, well thats shitty. I just read your post on brandflakes, and I agree that this is a better page than the usual crap.
