"Deki Microloans" Brigitte, Bruno and Ben (2014) 1:15 (US)

Deki is a non-profit that works to provide micro loans for impoverished entrepreneurs living in poverty in Malawi, Ghana and South Sudan. With the emphasis on loan, instead of a regular the lenders are paid back over an average of 12 months by the people who borrowed the money. A loan of just £10 can have a huge impact on a person, and by extension, a community and country.

This animated video, created by Aardman Animations, explains how the program works, and how people can help.

This initiative is also tied to a special promo. Aardman Animations, as you may know, are the creators of Wallace & Gromit. To help celebrate the film launch, you could win a signed autographed drawing by Nick Park, the Wallace & Gromit creator, and patron of Deki. Go here watch the film and enter for your chance to win. Competition ends August 11th, 2014.
