Creatives unite for Japan: The One Club & Art Directors Club unite to help rebuild Japan

In the wake of 2011’s devastating earthquake and tsunami, The One Club and the Art Directors Club, in partnership with AKQA have joined together to empower the creative community to unite in the rebuilding of Japan. The program, Creatives Unite for Japan, urges the creative community to come together to raise funds for Japan.

One hundred perfect of all contributions will fund The Ashinaga Foundation. The non-profit Foundation was established in 1963, and provides aid to children who have lost their parents due to hardship, economic or natural disasters. The proceeds raised through Creatives Unite for Japan, will go to rebuild the lives of the children of Japan.

“The creative community has always had a strong connection to the design community in Japan. This is our way of helping to rebuild the future,” said Mary Warlick CEO The One Club.

“We are honored to be able to join with The One Club in helping a country we consider dear friends” said Olga Grisaitis, Executive Director of the Art Directors Club.

Japan is the home of both beautiful and very quirky ads, as well jaw-droppingly awesome design from industrial to traditional. This ad for a telephone made with wood covering has a good shot in Cannes this year. The wood used to make the musical road, was actually re-used in the phone-factory, and if you bought a Touchwood SH-08C after this was shot, your phone might even be one of the 'stars' of this commercial.

For more Japanese commercials, visit the country tag Japan, and watch out for the Tarako ads, that song never ever ever leaves your head.

I am from Yokohama, Japan. The natural power of mother nature is beyond control especially earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
People who comment with "LOL" or "blaming on god" ought to experience the natural disaster and see for yourself. Let me tell you, this is disaster and no laughter.

The link you added (as homepage) was a Malaysian spam link, and no comments here say anything disrespectful like "LOL", neither does the article. You taking this comment as an chance to spam malaysian classified flyers is in fact the most disrespectful thing I've seen regarding the natural disaster in Japan on this site. The rest of your irrelevant throw-away comments will be deleted.
