Resumé reports on the "Adland near death" drama, where we had a mechanical failure on a few of our server disks. The rather unfortunate failure meant that the "files that point to where files are" was damaged, as I did my best to explain it in terms everyone can understand to Resumé.
While our hosting company Memset wanted to throw in the towel and reformat these fubared RAID-5 discs, I told them to mount it via another and let me check it out instead. This way I could actually retrieve the information needed, and save the 40 year old super bowl commercials collection. I also learned way too much about RAID-5 disc failure which I have now promptly forgotten.
