Tiffany & Co. - "Will you?"- (2015) :90 (USA)

Tiffany & Co received (or plain paid for) lots of social media accolades when they ran the "Will you" press ad featuring a handsome gay couple as the ring-bearers. Miley Ray Cyrus instagrammed the ad saying thanks "for being so badass". I fail to see the badassery here, a very traditional romance story is told showing different couples the moment they're about to ask the question. It's lots of longing, wishes for the future, kisses and even tears. The copy is quite nice, their life partner is the one that will drink bourbon with them, beat them at poker, fix their buttons when they get them wrong. The question they're asking is; "will you?" Now, the new and edgy part of this ad is in the form of a gay couple, and there's also an interracial couple. In the 1980s the latter may have been a little shocking still, but public opinion has done a complete somersault on the matter and by 2007 80% approve of interracial marriage. Obviously, Tiffany hopes to ride a similar wave when it comes to same sex marriage, and sell more rocks. Expanding market, you know. Expertly shot, with every single model being picture perfect the ad is quite dreamy. Oh if only we were all this handsome.
