Strawberry Frog opens in Mumbai

Strawberry Frog, the Cultural Movements agency has just opened a Mumbai office.

According to The Economic Times the shop, which prides itself on being as CEO Scott Goodson calls it, a quick and nimble alternative to "the dinosaur agencies," was a slow five years in the making before the opened their doors.

Goodson and his Frogs did some work for auto maker Mahindra's SUV called Scorpio for the U.S. market, back in 2008. Except the launch was postponed.

Still, never one to let a good contact go to waste, flash forward to now, where Raj Kamble will be at the helm. Interesting fact about Kamble: The former Creative at BBDO NY, spent less than six months as Chief Creative Office at BBH Mumbai.

According to the Times, Goodson " has an impressive list of potential clients even if he will have to work at convincing some of them to come on board. StrawberryFrog has done work for global brands like Emirates, LG, Google, Microsoft, Heineken, Natura of Brasil and Jim Beam among others."

It also further mentions in addition to Kamble, he says they will also be bringing on "head of planning who comes from a large agency."

And speaking of large agencies, a quick check of the top 50 agencies in India include Ambiance D'arcy, Chaitra Leo Burnett, Euro RSCG, FCB-Ulka Advertising, McCann-Erickson, MAA Bozell, JWT, Grey Wolrdwide, Ogilvy & Mather, Publicis Zen, Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA Anthem , RK Swamy/BBDO, just to name a few of the dinosaurs that were in India before the Frogs. I guess sometimes nimble doesn't equal first, eh?
