RIP Ed McMahon

Ed McMahon passed away today. Sidekick to Johnny Carson and Dick Clark, known for his American Family Publisher's Sweepstakes ads, America's Funniest Bloopers and, of course, Star Search, he also recently appeared in Cash4Gold ads and even was in this year's Super Bowl with M.C. Hammer.

Here are a couple spots from our archive featuring the late Mr. McMahon:

The world of show business is commiserating today. It’s really obvious that Ed McMahon had became a great TV personality. Ed McMahon, also the spokesperson for the Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes and a recent series of spots for freecreditreport.com, had been suffering from health problems over the last few years, and had some problems with his finances. He had been facing foreclosure and several lawsuits, and was in need of some fast cash until his health began to deteriorate rapidly, including a broken neck from a fall. He needn't worry about monologues again; rest in peace, Ed McMahon.
