Red Cross drunk tweet spawns spontaneous Dogfish beer blood drive

Messed up tweeting from the company account when you meant to tweet from another? God knows I've done it, speaking as a redhead and a little red TV, and to mock my mistake I've tweeted (((((( in STEREO where available ))))))) from both accounts. Could be worse.

Like, I could be tweeting about getting drunk from the Red Cross Account which is what poor Gloria Huang did. BrandFlakes reports that her drunktweet with the tag #gettingslizzard spawned a sudden beer-lovers blood drive. See, @dogfishbeer thought it was funny, and used the errant tweet to encourage people to give blood to the red cross. Win win!

Ryan found two more 4 bottle packs of Dogfish Head's Midas Touch beer.... when we drink we do it right #gettngslizzerd

Pubs joined in, like @FlyingSaucerAus offering a pint of dogfishbeer for a pint of donated blood to the Red Cross and soon everyone was getting light headed.

It doesn't always go so well, Adweek has an article anatomy of a twitter scandal, showing what happened after journalist Nir Rosen made a crass joke about Lara Logans attack. He's now off twitter.

Red Cross handled that well. Nice to see.

Yep, they totally did. There should be an award for "best save in twitter-gaffe" and this would be the winner, while Kenneth Cole hangs their head in shame. They had a lot of help from the happy folks at Dogfish beer - I should get me some of that.
