PetSmart "Stanley is Five" (2015) 2:15

I kept waiting for the punchline in this spot featuring Anna Faris and some dog "parents," talking about their dogs like they are actual children. But then I realized this was done by GSDM in Austin and maybe they don't have crazy pet owners like this in Texas. But here in L.A., they are everywhere. If this shtick seems a bit familiar it's because Christopher Guest who directed among other mockumentaries, Best in Show directed these. This one will air during the Oscars, alone with another one with Guest-alum Jennifer Coolidge, too. My guess is dog owners will love it and the rest of us who tolerate this will roll our eyes. I guess it's firmly cementing PetSmart as being owning the uh, 'over-zealous dog owner,' category.
