Paul Silverman checks into the penthouse agency in the sky

It is with great sadness that we report the unexpected passing of Paul Silverman at the age of 69. As Mullen's longtime creative chief and a New England advertising legend, Silverman played a crucial role in driving the agency's growth and establishing its national creative reputation throughout the 1970s, '80s, and '90s.

His contributions also helped shape the New England agency scene, guiding campaigns for well-known brands such as Timberland, BMW, and Monster.com. As a result, the region underwent a significant transformation from an industry backwater to a thriving creative center.

"Paul was simply brilliant," said Grimaldi in a statement. "He was one of the key people who made Mullen a nationally ranked and internationally recognized agency."

Jim Mullen:

"Over my thirty wretchedly long years in advertising, Paul Silverman was the best I ever met. Ever."
