Nature Valley is an official partner of British Tennis. To celebrate inclusiveness in the game, they created a full-sized tennis court in Westfield Shopping Centre, Shepherd’s Bush, and invited everyone to play a game, starting with a fun battle of the sexes match up between British women’s No 1 and Nature Valley brand ambassador Johanna Konta and Wimbledon champion and ATP legend Pat Cash.
This match was obviously a nod to the 1973 match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. And if that sounds even more familiar it's because there's also a movie about it starring Emma Stone and Steve Carrell. And surprise, Nature Valley is the sole promotional partner of the UK theatrical launch.
If anyone wonders how the Konta/Cash game went, well, she beat him 6-3 in a one-set shoot staying true to the historical event's duration. After that matchup, TV personalities Jamie Laing and Jessica Wright joined Konta and Cash on court for a Battle of the Sexes mixed doubles game. Then they opened up the court for the public.
This is all part of Nature Valley's The Court is Yours campaign, which is aimed at getting more people into tennis.
