Luckie Launches Pirate Radio Station for Senior DJs Sheltering in Place

Through an online radio station, RadioRecliner.com, senior living residents are becoming DJs from their rooms, sharing songs and stories on-air from noon-3 p.m. weekdays. Listeners from within the communities and across the world can also record requests or dedications, which are included in the daily programming.

So far more than 20 resident retirees in Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama have signed up to be DJs, and requests/dedications have poured in from listeners all over the U.S. since the site launched on April 27. You will see three DJs from Franklin, Tenn., on the home page at RadioRecliner.com. I've spoken with one there, and one in Atlanta, and they are fun conversationalists, to be sure.
