First there was "Reach and Frequency," then "Truth in Advertising," then the Bessies' "Idea"... Now there's "The Pitch" - a 20 minute short film made for the Sacramento Advertising Club's ADDY Awards this last week.
They scored a surprisingly lengthy story in the Sacramento Bee, and have a website set up with the official movie trailer, Froggeresque net game and other goodies.
So what's next in the genre of livening up advertising award shows?
Unsubstantiated rumour has it that W+K is currently filming a five-part Clio Awards epic in New Zealand directed by Sam Raimi and starring 26 Victoria's Secret models along with Harrison Ford, and Grey is working on a PowerPoint presentation for the IPA Advertising Effectiveness Awards featuring voiceover work by Wilford Brimley.
UPDATE! - Not to be outdone, the One Show is now considering updating its cherished Gold Pencil into a Gold Pen adorned with a buxom model wearing a skimpy bikini that disappears when you turn the award upside down.
