Latest Installment in Comedy Campaign Directed by Ira Rosensweig Features Aquaman Actor Road-Racing Abu Dhabi Resort’s Formula One Marina Circuit
LOS ANGELES, MAY 17, 2023 - “To be one with the car you must achieve total balance,” advises speed guru Jason Momoa behind the wheel of a screaming Alfa Romeo while his passenger shakily pours a cup of tea to prove the point. The latest episode of Yas Island Resort’s hilarious comedy campaign “Jason Momoa: Chief Island Officer” features the celebrity as a race-car instructor on the resort’s state of the art Formula One track. Momoa was recently named Yas’ “Chief Island Officer,” a title formerly held by Kevin Hart, who announced the end of his reign earlier this year, and to celebrate the new appointment Momentum Dubai created an epic comedy campaign directed and edited by Ira Rosensweig, showing fans how they can #LiveItUpLikeMomoa.
“It was an incredible collaboration with Jason, Deja Vu Productions and Momentum Dubai,” said Rosensweig. “The agency brought me in to help write every spot, as well as edit and oversee post. We only had three days to shoot five 60 second spots,so the project required extensive planning and coordination, often involving the use of many cameras in one take. Jason is one of the most dedicated artists I’ve ever met. I knew he’d bring massive energy, but I was delighted to find that he also has top-notch comedy skills and brilliant improvisational talent. He also helped us re-conceive two of the spots at the last minute, which I think ultimately improved the entire campaign.”
Rosensweig is a prolific master of comedy who has worked with stars such as Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Tiffany Haddish, Jack Black, Blake Shelton, Mindy Kaling, Patrick Mahomes, and many more. He has directed multiple spots that debuted in the Super Bowl, including Vacation Quarterback for Universal Parks & Resorts starring Peyton Manning, and the Super Monday campaign for FOX, promoting an unofficial national holiday in which viewers take off from work the day after the big game. Rosensweig has also won critical praise and many Clio and Promax awards for spots including Neighbors 3: Zombies Rising, a mashup of the Neighbors and Walking Dead franchises starring Seth Rogen and Zac Efron, One Night Only, with Alec Baldwin playing George Washington as Donald Trump, and Lip Sync Battle: It Takes Two, starring Chrissy Teigen and LL Cool J. He directs through Wavemaker Creative, his own production company, but also freelances for others.
Rosensweig recently completed production on his first feature film SHARE?, a sci-fi thriller starring 3x Emmy winner Bradley Whitford, Alice Braga, Danielle Campbell, and Melvin Gregg in a breakout performance as a man who struggles to survive after awakening alone, trapped in a society connected only by a primitive computer network, where the ability to entertain is the only currency. SHARE? Is the first feature film ever to be shot entirely from one fixed camera angle, employing immersive cinematic techniques to create a unique and disquieting experience where the viewer becomes another character in the movie. Rosensweig is also widely known as one of the masterminds behind the award winning Crew in a Box, the world’s first professional-quality, plug-and-play, remote video production solution.
