Havas closes Victors & Spoils to make way for blockchain and AI instead

Well, now it's man against machine as Colorado-based crowdsourcing agency Victors & Spoils is being shit down to make way for Havas foray into AI.

As George Parker said on Adscam “Yet another “Agency of the Future” joins the ever-swelling ranks of the “Agencies of the Past,” with the news that after nine years of painful mediocrity, Boulder’s, Victors & Spoils, has finally gone out of business. Remember, these were the geezers who said that crowd sourcing was the way forward for the ad biz. Formed by John Winsor and some other wankers from CP+B, they kicked off with a really bad campaign for Harley, who quickly realized that if the work was crowd sourced, they didn’t need an agency to do that, so pulled the account and did it themselves. In spite of this obvious basic flaw, BDHC Havas bought them. BDHC Havas is now closing them. Does anyone in this fucking business ever learn anything?”

According to what a Havas spokesperson told Adweek, V&S is closing down because they have suddenly decided to shift their focus towards the "most modern and relevant areas." Oh, how impressive! They even mentioned their increased investment in AI, conversational commerce, customer journey mapping, and blockchain. It's clear that Havas is determined to stay on top of all the trendy marketing buzzwords.

Ah, crowdsourcing, the practice that always managed to stir up a passionate debate, especially in the good ol' US versus UK rivalry. Some saw it as a stroke of genius, a brilliant and cost-effective way to tap into the vast pool of global creativity. But wait, there's more! Others believed it was nothing but a sneaky trick to exploit people into working for free, a guaranteed method to devalue creativity and stick it to the very notion of strategy. How wonderfully polarizing!
