While we did have some fun the faceless people viral campaign - especially collecting all those youtube films of faceless people sightings in the comments - the end result now that you can log in to https://www.facelesspeople.com/ and see the "project eagle" Lotus car it advertised, is tres boring.
I swear, I had to wait two minutes for the dang site to load. Here's a shot of their pretty numbers. After that I fell asleep. There's a car in there on the site, but no faceless people followup. Watch out for virals that start more interesting than they end.
A few more videos of the faceless people.
Henley regatta - faceless people out in a boat.
There was a video of the Faceless people at Wimbledon, but that's gone missing now.
And here they're stalking Kim Cattrall at Harrods.
Lotus and that's glaringly obvious when you see the website facelesspeople.com since the Lotus logo is smack middle on that page - but not just any old Lotus, rather the Eagle Project that is due to be seen for the first time at this year's London Motor Show - The projected date on the website facelesspeople.com: July 22, 2008 coincides the day before the London Motor Show. It's a promotion for the official debut of the Lotus Eagle at the 2008 London Motor Show.
I thought that you were being funny posting the 69 number, but it seemed to hang on the load at that particular number for about 20 seconds. Something we're not working out yet?
And, once the site loaded, it had a quick shot of faceless people and then what is probably the most boring interface for an automotive site I've ever seen. Yawn! Why did that take so long to load? One of the links says coming soon - a phrase that, along with Under Construction, should never been seen on a website unless there is something especially amazing that will be released later. This is a link to purchase one. Nice one.
After seeing the viral, I was really interested to see what they'd do with it. I think that's where all the budget went. I mean, you can't even spin the car in 360 degrees and that's a must-have on any car site nowadays, isn't it?
If this wins an award (the site) I'm going to hunt down the jury. :)

PermalinkThat was really really bland. It hung on number 69 for me as well, maybe they are being funny?

PermalinkWith the intriguing faceless people one would think that they'd do more with it once on the site... But no. (and I was trying to be funny with the 69. I'm such a juvenile - but yes it does hang there.).

PermalinkI think Robblinks most recent post William Beaver House – Beaver Butler is a great test for how juvenile you might be. ;)
