This is a fun way to use up a Saturday morning. Way To Go is an immersive experience created by Vincent Morisset. It was produced by his studio AATOAA in collaboration with both the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) and France Télévisions.
The website combines hand-made animation, music, 360 degree video capture and a google maps-like walking simulator. The only way to describe is is hypnotic. I felt like I was walking forever until I ended up in a creek, and then the scene went from black and white to hyper-color. But it's more than just walking. You can fly and run and jump, too, and follow your shadow, too. The music reacts to your movement.
‘Way to Go" debuted at the Sundance Festival's New Frontier Program this year-- via Oculus Rift VR. Now it's available to all without the Dramamine.
