Comic Sans new face: Comic Neue

A very unlikely hero just appeared, it's Comic Sans redesigned. It's Comic Neue.

Comic Neue aspires to be the casual script choice for everyone including the typographically savvy.

The squashed, wonky, and weird glyphs of Comic Sans have been beaten into shape while maintaining the honesty that made Comic Sans so popular.

It's perfect as a display face, for marking up comments, and writing passive aggressive office memos.

Created by Craig Rozynski, an Australian digital designer living in Japan, who generously allows for one free download of Comic Neue for a limited time. Why not get it, just for that lower case e that looks like it's smiling and so that you have at least one option of font that has kerning wide enough for a 1954 Chrysler Crown Imperial to comfortably drive through. Love it or hate it as much as Comic Sans, we're all impressed with the undertaking that is now making Craig Rozynski semi-famous. Good job.

If you want more comic book font options, head over to comic book fonts. That place is great I've been on the mailinglist since the 90s and I still get suckered in buying a font I don't actually have a project for once in a while. Latest is high jinks. Now I'm going to have to make free ads for the local ice-cream van.
