The mention of a product starting with an "M" is worth a few bucks, but don't you think that the next thing is embedding links into keywords to get people clicking thru. Maybe there should be keyword sale thru one of the blogging firms so we can all be whores.
It smells like a Republican leaning project to me with the likes of Mel Gibson an other less liberal types from Hollywood. You can always count on the conservatives to jump on an idea before the Democrats start their own voting drives. Good timing with the Democratic Convention next week. I havent looked at the spots yet but I will try and have an open mind even though Clearchannel is a sponsor.
After further investigation, I found that the galler for Sophie at http://www.sophie-dahl.com/ has a PAYPAL donation option.
Now that I have seen the spot and managed to not sit fhru 4 hours of Super Bowl to see it, I can honestly say now that the RIAA is gonna get backlashed on this bigtime. It makes a complete joke out of the RIAA and their antics and only magnifies the fact that people download music for free, without the help of Itunes. If there had been a new Napster ad perhaps it would have been cooler, but still the ad business is looking out for its client and Itunes does win of course even if the music "business" doesn't. They will sell more Ipods and downloads to go with em, but not saving the industry from losing millions everyday to downloaders who would willingly pay a small monthly fee for access to an archive of GOOD music!
That looks like a start of a business model:
- sue the downloaders
- take the settlement money (and give it to the artists, right?)
- get the defendants into the TV ads
- reimburse the settlement costs from the ad costs
Isn't it a nice ad-based buisiness model for the music industry!..
Just when you think its all over and they've announced the winners, Moveon has just announced more voting. This time by category (ie funniest)
There should be a category for "sick mofos" too from what I have seen like the one comparing Dubya to Hitler.

Dear Bush in 30 Seconds folks,
We were expecting 300-400 submissions, but over 1500 have come in. As a result of the huge interest, it's taking us a little longer than expected to process and post the ads. Voting will begin at www.bushin30seconds.org at 9:00am PST on Wednesday, December 17th.
Thanks for your patience -- we promise it's worth the wait.
Sincerely,
The Bush in 30 Seconds team.
