Thanks for the comments. The transmedia trend is interesting to me because I love those kind of stories. When I see what people are doing at places like campfire, I get jealous and excited. it is incredible. they've found a way to string together all of these disparate media parts in a compelling way, and those dudes never use a template. It's all a new playbook every time.
but it's also interesting to me on the flip side. it's an attempt to hold on to this idea that people WANT to interact with a brand. beyond brands which are also entertainment properties, i don't think that's the case. i don't care if your soda brand produced 10 videos, an app and an on-demand show about polar bear habitats. i've got episodes of top chef to catch up on.
