Donald Trump tweeted out a sound-clip from Michael Moore's new film where Michael says "Trump's election will be the biggest F you ever recorded in human history." Michael is talking about disenfranchised voters in the US, of course, but Trump used words that were supposed to be against him as words of support for him. A phenomena in the Trump campaign is that unknown fans with lots of talent then create supportive videos for him, this team who call themselves "Studio Krank" expertly paired the VO with slow motion images and music that swells just so. It's simultaneously a satire of all previous political ads and propaganda, as well as a perfect piece of communication telling people to go out and cast an "F you" vote. Huffington Post calls Trump tweeting Moores words the "last gasp to win Liberal vote," and Michael Moore himself is trying to spin this as a positive promotion for his most recent film, “Michael Moore in TrumpLand.” The full quote from Michael Moore continues:

Is Michael Moore really that dumb to think Brexit meant the UK is leaving Europe, as opposed to the EU? Does he also not know the difference between Wikimedia and Wikileaks?

PermalinkOh you know how it is, tomato/tomahto - European Union/Europe - Scandinavia / Scandinavian Peninsula - Holland / The Netherlands. I'm used to American English being a bastardized version of English where pants means slacks. You don't even use "u" in colour. ;)
The music REALLY makes this, it's expertly done. We have to give them points for that regardless of where we stand politically. We can still do that as ad-professionals, right?

Permalink@Joe Blow I'm not really sure what you're protesting, but honestly now, if Michael Moore meant "the European Union" he should have said "the EU" or "European Union", but instead he said "Europe" which does confuse things. At least for those of us who live in Europe, do not use the Euro, and voted against joining the EU many years ago right after we stopped calling it EG which stood for "Europeiska Gemenskapen." Terms means stuff, go figure.
