Tesco Supermarkets in the UK has gone a step further with its in-store marketing.
"Leading UK supermarket Tesco says it "supremely confident" its in-store TV network will be a big hit with customers and advertisers alike when it is given a full launch next month.
Tesco plans to have approximately 51 plasma screens distributed throughout each store in key sections, with each section broadcasting information relevant to that section." The in-store channel will feature news and public information films, as well as advertising. The only other supermarket or chain to do this so far is Wal-Mart.
According to just-food.com the inital run in three of Tesco's biggest stores with approximately 60 telly screens was a success."
