I must say it's pretty clever of maglite to get their brand name mentioned in conjunction with the new trend "light graffiti" regardless of what type of light source people use for this new fad. You could even mod a disposable camera to flash the fancy light graffitti you want if you are so inclined.
Seen quite a few places, such as trendhunter mag mention maglite with light graffitti so I suspect that maglite either got lucky or somebody smart decided to tag along on the new trend. You can see quite a few fun examples at DeviantArt a car, a firefly fake, and this slideshow from lichtfactor at Flickr is pretty awesome.

This video (below) is also awesome in it's own right.
I've done light grafitti with my kids, and they've had more fun than with their Xbox or PSP or any of those things, so that's saying something.Although we haven't used a Maglite.

PermalinkYou've done it with your offspring? Cool. I've done it as well - bikelights used - and it's great fun. Not exactly a new idea however I do like the flickr-group/me-too fun it's spreading across the globe. What was Picasso said bout great artists? ;)

PermalinkYes, I first suggested it to my beloved sons in 2004 when I couldn't pull my then eight year old away from his Nintendo, which my friend Adam had warned me would turn into Nofriendo. (I know Adam didn't coin that, but I like to give him credit.)I had done it a few times before on my own, and wanted to share it with my boys. But I should really give credit to a former girlfriend at Ted Bates in Stockholm who introduced me to the concept when I was working there in the late 70s. She pitched the concept of a Picassoesque light grafitti for an Apotekarnes ad, but was voted down as being "creatively insane" or whatever creatively insane is på Svenska by her very forward thinking superiors. :-)
