This Mortal Kombat X ad is a nod to the Mortal Kombat 1 commercial, but now turned up to eleven. It starts with hushed whispers between friends but then quickly escalates via texts, phone calls, breaking news reports, and the time-honored sure-fire way to instantly draw a crowd : yelling "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!" Masses of people abandon their cars, barber chairs, lunches, even weddings as they run to surround the unseen Mortal Kombat fighters. A lonely exotic dancer finds the topless joint has been abandoned. The brides, office workers, barbers, short order chefs and waitresses then take off as they hear another fight being called out. The insight 2015 is the same as in 92 - a good fighting game is as much fun to watch as it is to play. (Or so I hear, as people behind cheer me on when I sucker-punch Kidsleepy for the billionth time in one game. It's not like I'll ever let go of the control, guys.) Battery created the concept and developed the ad, lead by Chief Creative Officer Phil Khosid.
