Minecraft now offering educational content

Add this to the growing pile of great ideas from brands. As hundreds of millions of kids are forced to stay home, may of them will disappear into video games including Minecraft.

Thankfully Minecraft doesn't want them to lose every last brain cell they have. To make learning fun on the platform millions of kids are using every day, the company is offering free educational content in Minecraft Marketplace. It's also a great way to ensure they keep up the social distancing.

Today, March 24th, they announced the new in-game educational platform on their blog. IN part, the blog reads

"If you head over to the Minecraft Marketplace, you will find some of our favorite lessons from Minecraft: Education Edition in a brand new Education category. These educational worlds can be played on your own, with your kids, parents or friends. From the comfort of your home, you can tour the International Space Station or even explore the inside of a human eye."

These worlds are free to download until June 30th.
