"Lord, be with us and give us grace" reads a billboard, above.
In Ukraine, Christians have taken to the highways with a message of hope, dotting the landscape with billboards that feature not just the usual car insurance ads and fast food promotions, but verses from the Bible and inspiring slogans urging Ukrainians to keep the faith.
Svitoglyad News Agency reports these godly billboards are popping up in Rivne, Lutsk, and Kremenchuk—think of it as the Ukrainian version of the Bible Belt, but without the belt. Over forty of these signs of solace have been erected, showcasing Ukraine's Armed Forces in a divine light alongside holy script.
This initiative is a stark contrast to the more... expressive graffiti and signage that's been making the rounds since Russia decided to invade, offering a more uplifting vibe amidst the usual chaos.
Oleksandr Tretyak, the mayor of Rivne, is all in on this heavenly project. He took to his Facebook to proclaim, “There is strength, because the Lord is with us, because our people kneel and pray. The victory will come fast. Together we are strong! God is with us!” It's like he's channeling his inner motivational speaker, but with a divine twist.
The mastermind behind this spiritual street art, Adrian Bukovinsky, isn't keeping his light under a bushel. He's reaching out via social media, encouraging every mayor with a billboard space to join the movement, spreading the word (and the Word) across Ukraine.
