Here's an interesting one. The late Adam Yauch, aka MCA, had it written in his will that Beastie Boys songs could never be used in adverts.
According to DNA Info Yauch...
... instructed in his will that his image, music and any art he created could not be used for advertising, saving himself from the fate of other deceased musicians whose faces and songs have become corporate shills.
In other words, "not even from my cold dead hands."
This certainly sets a precedent. Considering Elvis, and The Beatles , and Hendrix have all been grave robbed in the name of shillin', I can't exactly blame the guy or his estate. Way to keep your integrity, even from the great beyond, MCA.
