Fat suit against McDonalds gets tossed out

Two New York City teens who brought a class-action lawsuit against McDonalds, claiming the food from the fast food chain made them fat and caused health problems has been thrown out by a federal judge. U.S. District Court judge Robert Sweet dismissed the suit, saying the plaintiffs failed to prove that McDonald's engaged in deceptive advertising by failing to disclose the alleged health dangers posed by its food.

From the article:
"If a person knows or should know that eating copious orders of super-sized McDonald's product is unhealthy and may result in weight gain, it is not the place of the law to protect them from their own excesses," says Sweet's ruling as cited by the Associated Press.
