In a move that further expands its global footprint, award-winning creative editorial/VFX company Nomad has opened its new space in Tokyo, adding to a network that also includes offices in New York, Los Angeles and London.
“We work with many creatives who regularly travel between LA and Tokyo, and we have been interested in Tokyo for several years,” Nomad Partner/Editor Glenn Martin explains. “We are very excited to establish a creative presence in Japan, and we are looking forward to working in our new space. We have a fantastic Tokyo-based group and will be supporting their talents with editors and VFX artists from our other offices whenever larger teams are needed.”
Led by Managing Director Yoshinori Fujisawa and Executive Producer Masato Midorikawa, Nomad Tokyo will reflect the brand’s open, casual and welcoming culture and environment, which has played a significant role in forming and maintaining client relationships. “In addition to great creative and professional work, our perspective as former clients is that Nomad is a place where you want to come back to and work again. We want Nomad Tokyo to be a fun, warm and welcoming place for our creative people, with a California air in the heart of the city.”
“The role of a post-production house is also quite different between the US and Japan,” says the Tokyo duo, who both bring years of agency experience from their previous work with TBWA. “Although people in Japan are starting to see the value of the Western style post-production model, it has not been properly established here yet. We are able to give our Japanese directors and creatives the ability to collaborate with Nomad’s talented editors and VFX artists, who have great skills in storytelling and satisfying brand’s needs. Having been well-established in the industry for more than 20 years, Nomad has a comprehensive post-production workflow that enables the company to execute global projects for the biggest brands in the world. It’s now time for Japan to experience this great process and be the forefront of where global advertising is heading.”
Nomad Partner/Co-Founder Scott Carleton adds, “We are extremely proud of our existing staff and culture. Over the past 23 years, we have been very selective about whom we partner with and how we expand. With the opening of the Tokyo office, we want our staff and clients to know that they are a part of a global brand that is part of the changing landscape of the advertising industry.”
Nomad has built a reputation as a leading creative editorial company with integrated VFX and Sound Design. All of Nomad’s editors are available to work in New York, L.A., London, and Tokyo.
