Coca Cola tries to be exclusive

These bottles glow in blacklight!

Armchair Media has created some funky new bottles for Coca Cola. They asked 5 design groups from 5 continents to create and share visions of optimism. Part of the launch includes a website, with the design debut, where to buy and a list of the designers. The bottles will appear at the trendiest lounges and night clubs.

One design is from The Designers Republic in Sheffield, England, called "Lovebeing," and the brightly colored design is said to morph when placed under a black light. Yet to come are designs from shops in the United States, Brazil, Japan and South Africa. A new bottle design will launch every two to three months.

While I do fancy that blacklight bottle - there is something weird about having the worlds most famous carbonated brown beverage trying to be exclusive.

I bet bottle collectors will love it though, and proudly display unopened bottles next to their OK cola cans.

Black light is cool. I'm sure it will resonate with the drugged out clubbers. But I do agree. Coke is anything but exclusive.
