CHICAGO - June 15, 2011 - The principals of design-focused production studio Leviathan (www.lvthn.com) are very proud to announce the addition of Tim Sepulveda in the new role of design director -- as well as the studio's new representation deal with Nancy Jacobs of New York-based Batya Communications. According to Leviathan's executive producer Chad Hutson, Jacobs and her colleagues are already representing Leviathan and its sister digital creative agency eatdrink (www.eatdrink.com) on both U.S. coasts, and Sepulveda's appointment is also effective immediately. Leviathan's latest reel can be viewed online at www.vimeo.com/24843979
A Chicago native, Sepulveda is a 2005 graduate of the Illinois Institute of Art-Schaumburg, where he studied 3D animation. His first full-time job was with Chicago's Radar Studios, where his strong design and artistic contributions to spots for Nintendo, Hasbro, Nickelodeon and others quickly propelled him into project leadership roles. From there, he spent one year with Daily Planet as lead designer and animator, another year with Foundation Post in a similar role, and he freelanced for several other top area shops, including eatdrink. In 2009, he was recruited to join Charlex in New York, where he began as a senior designer and was soon named associate creative director. Through his extensive knowledge of 3D modeling, animation and lighting, and his leadership, he contributed to high-profile projects for Verizon, Marshalls, Dunkin Donuts, Disney and Fidelity.
Sepulveda returned to Chicago in 2010, where he immediately began freelancing for the likes of Optimus, The Mill and Loyalkaspar. Based upon his past collaborations with Hutson at eatdrink, he was brought in for several key Leviathan projects over the past year. As a direct result of those successes, they are very pleased to welcome him to their roster.
"We know first-hand that Tim has outstanding ideas, and that he can back up his ideas with gorgeous designs," Hutson said. "He's also a top technical talent, who is able to troubleshoot complex problems, and has great knowledge of multiple 2D, 3D and compositing platforms. He's very experienced and we know and trust him completely, so we all feel he's a perfect fit as our new design director."
"I really like the team here," Sepulveda began. "I also love the fact that we're not just focused on one type of work. Some of the things we're working on now are super cool and they really woke me up creatively. I've come onboard with the goal of helping this extremely talented team take great ideas and concepts and push them to the highest level in every aspect."
Hutson also expressed his enthusiasm for the new relationship with Nancy Jacobs. "Nancy and her partner Tara Ellis understand current advertising trends, as well as what's coming around the corner," he said. "They are extremely well connected and knowledgeable about traditional, interactive and experiential marketing, and through them, we look forward to forging solid working relationships with even more of the world's top marketing leaders and creatives."
