Here's a fun idea brought to you by the Famous Brussels peeps in Belgium: Catroulette.
It's a neat way to make use of our collective internet love of cats, by encouraging adoption, while at the same time, making us feel collective ashamed for hitting the "next" button.
One can only hope the pet adoption agencies in Belgium that have partnered up with Catroulette are of the no-kill variety. Wouldn't want to get all psyched about getting my next David Meowie, or The Great Catsby, only to discover they've already been sent to that Great Catnip Garden In The Sky.
All too often adoption drives seem more like they're interested in clearing house rather than finding "forever homes." What I appreciate about Catroulette is if you do hit the adopt button, the site cautions you to ask whether you really have time and resources to devote to the most wonderful pets in the world.
But of course you do, dammit. Get out there, Belgians! Allez-y! Gaan! Insert Flemish word for "go," here.
Do eeet!
